Chihuahua - Genevieve Chihuahua Senior - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Omaha, Nebraska

$200

My foster mama has a confession to make. She's not a chihuahua person. She says please, please don't hold it against her but she's never really known a chihuahua before I came along. And then I did...and she says that she's a better person now for knowing me. My name is Genevieve but all my friends call me Ginny for short. I'm around nine years old and before this year I spent year after year producing beautiful babies in a pretty beat up place. Thanks to a few amazing organizations, me and several other mamas and dads busted out! In my case, I brought along my last two babies, Floyd and Fannie. I'm pretty old for a "new mama" and we went through quite a transition leading up to and through our rescue. As hard as we tried, my little Floyd was just too tiny but I was so glad he got to find a warm, loving place for us to snuggle before it was time for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge. And so for the last few weeks, it has been me and my sweet little Fannie adjusting to the good life with these strange humans and a bunch of other dogs that just run around carefree....no cages!

My foster mama will say that she was nervous. She knew I was coming and she'd heard lots of different things about chi chis. What she didn't know was that my breed, my health, my age...all of those things she was worried about from the get-go were just such silly things to fret over. Since the day my babies and I have come to her house, I have literally smiled non-stop. I have been an amazing mama and I hit the ground running (I literally get to run on the ground and not a wire crate bottom), checking out every new sight and sound with my long tongue just hanging lazily out the side of my mouth because I barely have any teeth. I've loved being a cuddlebug and an explorer almost as much as I've loved being a good mom to all of the babies. In fact, I love exploring so much that two days after I came home I decided to give the scary porch stairs a leap (all two of them) and broke my leg in two places. That hasn't slown me down one bit, though. I am just too excited to live life to the fullest from here on out. My foster mama and dad laugh and laugh as they hear me clunking around in my cast right along with the rest of the crew like I own the place. I am just the happiest dog ever, and why wouldn't I be? Life is good!

I'm potty-pad trained and now that it's getting nicer out and my cast will be coming off soon I'm excited to start spending a lot more quality time outdoors. I love to eat and even though I'll likely only have one or two teeth left after my upcoming dental, I'm pretty good with wet or dry food. I will follow the humans anywhere and love big fluffy beds with warm towels right out of the dryer. I love snacks, Netflix, and poking around the kitchen to help "clean up." Car rides are a blast and I love to ride shotgun in my little car seatbelt, greeting everyone at the bank and the Starbucks drive-thru!

I'm very excited to find my forever home and I will be ready to join my new family in mid-April after I am spayed and my cast is ready to come off. I would really love a home where I don't need to navigate many stairs due to my daredevil antics and a little bit of arthritis in my knees. My foster mama asked if I wanted Fannie to come to my forever home with me since she's the baby and all, and I told her no. As much as I've loved all my babies (and I have), it is time for me to be pampered now. A fairly quiet home with a person who is around quite a bit to love and spoil me would be amazing. Another old chihuhua mama friend or two would just be the icing on the cake!

My adoption fee is $200 or $150 if I'm adopted by a senior. If you think we might be a good fit, please complete my application. Until then, my non-chihuahua foster mom will keep on loving and spoiling me....(she is totally a chi chi person now, even if she won't admit it....)
