My name is Duke. I am three years old. Life has not been very good to me. Because I was not treated very nice in the past, I have some special needs. I am very smart but I?m still learning to trust people and learning that not all people will be mean to me. I must go to a home with previous recent Doberman or like breed experience. I cannot be around children under 15 years old. I need someone who is willing to work with me and who will be gentle but firm as I do like to learn. I don?t like loud, sudden noises or quick sudden movements. I know sit, stay, come, and down. I love to play ball and my squeaky toys. I do like to chase cats but it?s just for play and I usually stop when told to. I get along with dogs of all sizes. I get a little curious with counters and trash cans because I love the smells. My nose works really well. I?m still discovering that things aren?t going to hurt me. I hope you can be that special home that will have patience with me and can work with my special needs. All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted.

Please Note:
In most cases we require a fenced yard.
We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason.
Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.
